President's Message
The Baptist Deacons Conference of Baltimore and Vicinity and Its Auxiliaries are committed to preparing a leadership of compassionate, competent, and committed believers. We believe that the message of the Church has not changed, but the methodology that we utilize to get the message out must change. The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ must not be stymied nor stagnated by outdated traditions and practices. Fresh visionary leadership is a necessity for continuous progress in the furtherance of the Kingdom.
The word deacon comes from the Greek word “diakanos” meaning servant. We are to serve and not be served, serve and not dictate, serve and not denigrate, serve and not manipulate. I Timothy 3:13 declares, “For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.” Our desire is to partner with Pastors for progress. In addition to serving the Table of the Lord, the Pastor, and the Poor, we will raise the visibility and viability of the Deacons Ministry through education, information, and fellowship.
We serve God by serving one another. God has no hands but our hands, no feet but our feet, and no voice but our voice.
Where He leads me I will follow, Where He leads me I will follow
Where He leads me I will follow, I’ll go with Him all the Way!
